I spent a few days in Kawaguchiko, an area just north of Mt. Fuji known for its five lakes. This was a pretty eventful portion of my trip. I spent half a day trudging through the snow in waterlogged shoes to the nearest shoe store I could find, I hung out with some Indonesian travelers who were seeing snow for the first time, I went to the ice caves and walked along a trail that I think technically went through Aokigahara Forest so maybe I'm cursed now. On my last full day there, I spent the entire day taking pictures of Mt. Fuji. For some reason (I probably saw it on Yuru Camp) I really wanted a picture of Fuji's reflection in one of the lakes. I wasn't able to get one - throughout the day the mountain was either covered in clouds or the lake I was at wasn't still enough - but I did find a puddle that was willing to cooperate.
