This is a picture of a bunch of flyers for chika (underground/indie) idol groups posted at a kebab place in Akihabara. One of my favorite memories from my trip this year is the night I realized that I loved chika idols. One night, my friends and I stumbled into a live house in Shinjuku where a chika idol group was performing. One of my friends was celebrating their birthday that night, and by then we were all at least somewhat drunk, which I'm sure heightened the experience, but at the time that was by far the best experience I had ever had watching live music. The energy of both the idols and the crowd was incredible and infectious. It legitimately felt like being part of the crowd was being part of the performance - cheering, responding to the cues from the idols, sending them their energy to perform at their best. It was an intoxicating feeling, and I ended up going to a few more chika idol shows throughout the course of the trip.
